The Preface
The dinosaurs had their fate, so why not us? We lived in peace and we had our wars. We had our successes and we had our failures. But this time, everything will change. The scientists had discovered an incoming comet and said that it will hit the Atlantic Ocean. “The vast water will devour the comet’s heat and debris” “There’s no need to worry.” they said. Well, they were wrong- dead wrong. The comet came and split into the Earth’s atmosphere. Its size was immense, more than the scientists imagined it would be. But people still believed that the ocean will be their savior. For the comet; its blasts down the air and spread thousands, upon thousands of dust. The heat it had collected was burning the air itself and evaporated the clouds in an instant. The comet plunged into the Atlantic and everything settles down. The scientists were right? The comet forced its way down and crashes into the bottom of the ocean. It sends enormous shockwaves and caused a massive amount of earthquakes. These quakes terrorized all continents, rocking their worlds- literally. The quakes split mountains and cracked shores. Cities and towns sank into the fissures and steaming lava flowed everywhere.
This comet strike also caused other natural disasters. Tornadoes ripped through farms, hurricanes rushed through cities, and massive floods carried away the lifeless bodies. This tragic event had gone on for 3 years.
It’s 2008 and the world has been silent. No word on what happened; therefore, most of the population had been wiped out. But life still went on. The natural disasters calmed down and the earth had stopped shaking. Surviving communities had gotten together and worked hard to reach out to the rest of the world. So, the greatest among the people gathered together and said that they would go under something called the Redesigning Period. They spoke for months and planned to restore the world.
The Redesigning Period
The people that were able to gather and talk things over were known as the “Intellects”. These Intellects spoke about the changes the Earth had suffered. Continents have been split so severely; that you can call it a “bunch of little islands”. The ice caps melted and almost completely flooded some cities.
“Let’s make the world a floating city,” One of the Intellects suggested.
“No, that will be asking for more trouble!” another one opposed. They sat down for weeks and finally came up with a touchy solution.
“Let’s go back,” The lead Intellect said. “We shall go back into the medieval times. Forget about some technology; therefore, it caused this mess.” Other Intellects went berserk. They argued that bringing down the technology will bring them to a disadvantage. “Who will we suffer from?” the lead Intellect, who’s name was Kerk, said. “The entire world had just gone through this catastrophe. Why would one try to bring the other down?” Kerk reasoned. His fellow Intellects thought hard about what he had stated. Soon enough, they agreed. And as soon as they could, they sent out all the messengers they can muster. “Bare the word!” was the slogan for the world’s new era.
The New Era and its Conditions
As the word began to spread throughout the remaining world, the Intellects started to receive feedback from the surviving landmasses. There have been reports that people were experiencing strange problems. In Africa, they complained that citizens could shoot out rock from the ground with just one stamp of their foot. Others can turn their arms into stone-whenever they choose to. In Europe, people have been spitting out molten lava-without burning themselves! They can create volcanoes and make pyroclastic clouds out of thin air. The whole world was going through similar situations.
“We need to do something,” Kerk announced at an important meeting.
“Kill them! They’re not human!” Intellects started to call out.
“NO!” Kerk yelled. “As we speak, your families could be suffering from the same thing.” Kerk pointed at Herlin, his second-in-command. “Herlin, raise your left hand and think of a small whirlwind.” Kerk told him.
Herlin looked confused, “What good will that do?”
“DO IT!” Kerk yelled. Herlin jumped up and faced the crowd. He raised his hand slowly and closed his eyes. Surprisingly, a gusting whirl of air formed in front of him. Gasping with amazement, Herlin moved the small whirlwind, slowly across the table. “You see?” Kerk said. “We mustn’t kill anyone! Let’s try to sort this out. We will find a way!”
It’s now 2010. The Intellects have taken 2 years to gather up ships. These ships sailed around the malformed world and took anybody who was willing to go. Kerk’s plan was to separate the people-to prevent outbreaks in the weakened world. Further changes will be discussed later.
Later that year, Kerk’s ships have been seen all over the world. To his surprise, people actually boarded the ships and let them be taken away.
“What shall we do for the countries? The landmasses have been wrecked completely.” Herlin mentioned to Kerk. Kerk nodded slowly, he knew there will be some difficulty. Africa can’t be Africa when half of the land had been broken up and was floating away. Other landmasses were once flourishing forests, but have been scorched-likewise with dry areas.
“They say that people experienced problems,” Kerk stated. “These problems were dealing with the basic elements.” Kerk thought for a moment, “Ice, Water, Fire, and Wind.” He soon got the idea to separate the world’s survivors and create elemental realms. Many Intellects agreed, but others knew that it would cause trouble.
Soon, there was the Fire Realm, which was located near where South America once was. The Water Realm was stationed where North America once stood. The Wind Realm was in the Eastern Hemisphere, near Europe. What was once Africa was now known as the Earth Realm. These four nations strived through the years to come.
Over the Years
Years have gone by and the four nations managed to get along. But when there’s peace; there is always evil. Wars broke out and nations invaded others-just like the medieval period. That’s what they wanted right? Well, everything wasn’t all swords and arrows. The world agreed to keep weapons like guns and explosives. But these were only to be used in dire situations or used to protect important areas. Wizardry became a well known subject for schools. Some taught about the warrior ways, some schools practiced archery. Kings rose and fell. Nations struggled and strived. It wasn’t to long, till they noticed that time, itself, was acting sluggish. Intellects suggested that the comet strike, which was called “The Oblivion”, emitted strong radiation throughout the world. It seemed farfetched and many didn’t believe it, but it was the only, closest, logical reason. Mythical creatures like dragons and unicorns came into the world. Many believe that radiation also cause this phenomenon. But the theory of the radiation also stood strong because animals like bobcats, well, became more human. So did the wolves and some pigs. With the years gone by, they have made their own species become known. The bobcats were known as Bobbies, the wolves were known was the Wolven, and the pigs were called Pigas. There were still some modern cities and towns existing, but castles and stone homes were now widespread. The world has adjusted to their new time and really didn’t want to change back. It’s now year 2030 and the world has been renamed from Earth to Sitius. Many cities were renamed as well, but that didn’t stop the people from moving on and do what some did in the Modern time
