The Prolouge

Prologue

It was a cold and bitter night. The forces of wind made leaves hang onto the branches for dear life. The sorrowful moon made the land an inky grey. The dark clouds passed the sky as if on a stampede.

A small house perched on top of a hill. It was not in horrible condition, but you can tell that the wind had done some damage. A tall and slim shadow appeared over the house’s gate. The shadow opened it and walked swiftly towards the door. When it got there, it raised its hand toward the knob and the door flew quietly open. The shadow made its way to the stairs. There was a light coming from a nearby bedroom. It made haste, and ascended the stairs.

A small crib in the corner occupied the lighted room. The shadow approached it and stood over the small baby. The baby was a dark brown and had already started to grow a nappy, black colored hair. It was sleeping peacefully. The shadow picked up the baby and held it close.

“Hello, Trase.” the shadow spoke softly. The shadow looked at the door to make sure that no one was to interfere in what it was about to do. The shadow raised the baby up towards the window, which bared the naked moon. It murmured a couple of phrases. Then it brought the baby back and kissed it lightly on its small lips. A bright, blue light filled the room and the baby started to cry. Quickly, the shadow put an end to it by placing its finger on the child’s head. The shadow put the baby back in its crib and left the house without any sound.
